Who did not know with Lumpia (spring rools)?
If we mention about lumpia definitly it will connect with Semarang City that famous with that food. Lumpia is typical Semarang’s food that the contents consist of young bamboo, egg, and can be combine with chicken, prawns or even crab meat.
Semarang has several main places to get lumpia. The most famous probably in Gang Lombok, Jalan Pemuda, and Jalan Mataram.
Those 3 places put forward the lumpia taste that found came from the same family.
This time my review is lumpia from Mbak Lien’s stall whose famous in Semarang. The stall Mbak Lien can be seen from main street, Jalan Pemuda, to be precise in Gang Grajen, in front of Dept Store Sri Ratu.
But should be not deceive with the other lumpia stall because there’s other lumpia stall that it’s location at the edge of the road by the name of that similar. The customer can be wrong if they haven’t know location of lumpia stall of Mbak Lien.
Lumpia offer available on lumpia basah (was not fried) and lumpia that in fried. And don't worry, for lumpia basah, the contents has cooked only was not fried.
After my tongue taste lumpia basah, it seems really delicious and the contents more felt because not mix with oil. It seems rather sweet with the taste of young bamboo and the egg inside.
For price of lumpia in the stall of Mbak Lien, Rp.7000, - for his 1 piece and definitly worthy.
So if you coming to Semarang city , try to not forget to try lumpia.
