Mexican Food

Friday, November 25, 2005 by Adi

I always want to make guacamole since Patty (trainee from Mexico) made it but somehow never happen because I thought it's difficult to make. But last week somehow Scott succed to motivate me to look for a recipe and try it even maybe it will be not good. And the result was almost perfect unless too much onion because Scott want it :P . Normally we must eat guacamole with tortila, but since we don't have it so we ate it with hard bread (not soft one like we find it usually on Indonesia, it was nice also with bread. I think it will be good also to eat guacamole with chips or something like that. Aga said it's not good to eat it in the morning because of the garlic but for me (as Indonesian :P)it will be good for light breakfast if you want it. It's so good to serve with bread and on cold condition and easy to make also. I put the recipe under this posting. Have a nice try and send me comment if you succes to make it also :)

Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 small tomato
1 1/2 Tbsp lime juice (or juice of 1 fresh lime)
salt and pepper to taste

Peel avocados and remove the pit
Peel and mince the onion and the garlic
Chop the tomato.
Mash the avocado in a bowl (fun for the kids) and then stir in the remaining ingredients.
Serve cold with tortillas

Family Days

by Adi

I always consider Lebaran/Idul Fitri Days as Family Days in my family and relatives eventhough most of us are Catholic. Everyone gather in my parents village in that day because in Indonesia most of long holiday that we have on these days. My parents hometown (read: village) only 15 minutes walking different each other so visit 2 relatives from my father and mother were really easy at that day. In Indonesia, we come to older people house (grandparents, uncle/auntie, cousins, neighbours etc), shake their hands, and congrat them. Especially for someone who really older than us (grandparents, uncle/aunties) we do more than just shake hands. In Indonesia, we do sungkeman (show respect by kneeling and pressing our's face to another's hands/knees) and they will give 'blessing' for us. That's why it have 'huge' meaning for people back to their hometown and congrat their relatives aka mudik.

e-mail to the future.....

Saturday, November 12, 2005 by Adi

Most time capsules involve cramming stuff into a metal box and buryingit in a hole in the ground. It's a method that works --but it's soprimitive. What if you could write an email to yourself, and beassured of receiving it twenty years in the future? Read More....................

nana

NANA is a 25million copy selling comic series in Japan. This summer the movie "NANA" was made and it's going to be shown in other asian countries:HONG KONG, Taiwan,Indonesia,Malaysia and Singapor!! Recently Asian Press Conference was held in HK, and that happened to be the first international press conference ever held for a Japanese film. I'm happy that many asian people support our culture and I really recommend NANA especially to girls, it inholds what any girl would dream of.

What Age Do You Act?

Friday, November 04, 2005 by Adi

You Are 24 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

hmm...wish I can do that :)

Love or Affection ?

by Adi

Damn, I can't stand not to put this message..This is message for Tiara from e-mail that she received from man named Takeshi. I think he's Japanese (from his name-hopefully true) and I must admitt I will never think that there's so many Japanese man can think deep like this and now because of his word I thingking again about the value that I believe, Thanks takeshi
"Tiara,In my opinion, you just have not met your soulmate yet. So the change in your heart is nothing strange to me.
There are some kind of words to express feelings between man and woman just like Love and Affection. In case of Japanese language, there are Ai and Koi. I think most of the people think the meaning is almost same or even have never paid attention. So I did. But a Japanese novelist once gave me a hint. After many years passed since that, now I almost understand what he ment. He wrote like this:
Koi (¢â Love) is a natural feeling that we want to be with the person, but Ai (¢â affection) is an intention to be with the person.
Koi has its own logic. Nobody can explain it by words or common sense. Just like you are at a loss how to express what happened in your heart now.
But Ai is an strong intention to be with the person, whatever happens. If somebody makes you feel like that, he is the soulmate to you, I think.
I believe that I could have had a soulmate. Hubungan kami sudah 6 tahun. To say the truth I sometimes feel boring to be with her, and sometimes I am fascinated by another girl. But still, I can find strong intention inside me to be with her, which I did not have when I was younger.Saya sudah yakin bahwa saya tetap mau bersamanya, walaupun dia sudah jadi nenek......I can confirm that this is not temporary feeling like Koi, but Ai.
So I believe that you will also meet a man that make you feel like that.Until that time, you have only to be youreself.Jalannya masih panjang deh.
Take care and don't brood over too much !
Takeshi"
